HDVx

The HDVx was designed with the goal of allowing Satellite service providers
to extend the single-TV PVR function, existing in their high-end set-top
boxes, to a multiple TV DVR service, negating the need for an expensive
set-top box per TV. At the same time, the system allows the distribution
of HD signals using only one point of entry from the roof satellite
dish. This concept prevent the need for re-wiring the home for satellite
service and the multi-LNB down-converters that accommodate multiple
TVs.
The HDVx is offered in two separate models: A wireless link with control
feedback, that utilizes cheaper set-top boxes at the remote TVs; and
an upgraded model that replaces the remote set-top box with a unified
box - the VEU (Video End Unit)
The HDVx offers the following features:
- Wireless distribution of high quality Video
- Support for all video standards including: DVB-S, DVB-T, DVB-MHP
& ATSC (NA D-HDTV). The system is completely transparent to all
broadcasting standards
- Support for all HD standards, up to and including 1080p
- Multiple TVs with different channels for each one
- Interfaces with existing digital set-top boxes, with minimal changes
- Transforms Local PVR (one local Personal Video Recorder) to a whole
house DVR (Digital Video Recorder), transferring the Video wirelessly
to remote TVs
- Distributes multiple video streams, from one Hard Drive (in the
PVR box) to different TVs
- Dynamic power control eliminates the flooding of the airwaves with
constant high power transmission
- Triple encryption:
1. Service provider encryption to prevent theft of service of selected
channels
2. Secure local environment to prevent multiple systems interference
3. Individual encryption for each TV, providing channel control
- Minimal maintenance, since there is no need for coaxial cables
between TVs
- The VEU eliminates the need for any set-top box at the remote TV
HDVx employs BE LABS patented technology.
