WMS

The WMS was designed with the goal of supporting all the existing and foreseeable global communication and broadcasting standards. To allow the flexibility of supporting changes in standards, rules and environment constraints, the WMS is highly configurable via simple, remote plug-in software modules.
The system includes 3 parts: WMC (Wireless Multimedia Center) – the system gateway and base station that controls the entire system operations and to which all the external feeds are connected; VEU (Video End Unit) – the small wireless transceiver unit for each TV, for video reception and bi-directional communication; CEU (Communication End Unit) – a small bi-directional communication transceiver that can be bought as part of the system, but can also be replaced with any standard communication module (i.e. Bluetooth PC-CARD for laptops, 802.11 ready cordless phone, etc.).

The WMS provides an ideal solution for Satellite service providers who are facing the problem of in-home cabling, which are owned by other service providers and cannot carry the bandwidth needed for the satellite services.
It is also a solution for a unified service installation, with immunity to obsolescence, since the system can be reconfigured, via remote download, to carry any service.

The WMS offers the following features:

• Wireless distribution of high quality data
• smart distribution of video, audio, etc. through existing in-home coaxial cables
• Support for all video standards including: DVB-S, DVB-T, DVB-MHP & ATSC (NA D-HDTV). The system is completely transparent to all broadcasting standards
• Support for all HD standards, up to and including 1080p
• Multiple TVs with different channels for each one
• Picture In Picture for every TV
• Cable, Satellite or Terrestrial feed, i.e. the system can accept any information feed coming into the house with no change in external infrastructure
• Interface to Cable/DSL/POTS phones and modems (internal or external)
• POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) emergency hard wire feed
• High speed Internet and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)
• Support for BlueTooth, Home RF, 802.11, etc. The WMS communication sub-system is SOFT-RF based. It is a proprietary design that allows, via loadable software modules, the support of any and every communication standard
• Smart Card controlled to allow complete parental control and customized TV services
• Dynamic power control eliminates the flooding of the airwaves with constant high power transmission
• Triple encryption:
  1. Service provider encryption to prevent theft of service of selected channels
  2. Secure local environment to prevent multiple systems interference
  3. Individual encryption for each TV, to allow channel control
• Minimal maintenance, since the house is virtually wire free other than electric power lines
